An event that has put Macedonia on the map of the swimming sport. One of the 12 marathons which are organized by the World Swimming Association. Event with a tradition which is old almost a whole century - the first marathons took place in the 1920s. As it is today, this event has been held almost every year from 1992. The event where the best swimmers in the world are gathered in one place is held in the second half of August. The long route of 30 km begins at the Monastery St. Naum and ends in the city port of Ohrid.
