Window to the past of the capital of Macedonia. The building of the museum is an exhibit itself - it is a remnant of the old railway station that was damaged in the disastrous earthquake of 1963. The museum has about 30,000 exhibits that silently speak of the turbulent times of Skopje. Exhibits include items from archeology, history, ethnology and art history. The museum has a permanent exhibition Walk through the past, which presents a beautiful picture of life in this region, from prehistoric times until the early 20th century. Part of the museum's collections are found in the Old Bazaar in Suli inn, and two memorial museums of the Communist Party of Macedonia and illegal weapons workshop for World War II. From all of the museum exhibits, special value is being given to the artistic photographs and watercolors.
