Meet with your guide at the hotel lobby in the morning. Departure to National Park Galicica -one of the richest national parks in Europe, with 130 different species of trees and shrubs, many of which are relict. In the national park and on the shore of Lake Ohrid one can find fifty species of endemic snails which are specific only to this lake in the whole world. Possibility for trekking and enjoying nature with beautiful views over Ohrid and Prespa Lakes.
Our next stop will be the church of St George in Kurbinovo –Prespa region. The modest exterior of this medieval jewel is hiding real wealth. One of the most important Byzantine monuments ever. The preserved frescos, dating from the 12th century, have secured for this church one of the most important places in the world treasury of cultural heritage. Frescoes with incredible authenticity in expressing the inner drama of the characters.
Part of the frescos depicting the Archangel Gabriel "Angel from Kurbino", which has been found in the church, can be seen on the 50 denars Macedonian banknote. Situated in the heart of Pelister (Baba Mountain), near the village of Kurbinovo, this monastery overlooks the unforgettable dark blue Lake Prespa.
In the afternoon we will arrive in Brajcino, where we’ll have our homemade village lunch in nature (picnic). Here in Brajchino you can buy their special homemade liqueur made of all fruits growing on Baba Mountain and sweets (slatko), and experience the real Macedonian rural life. Departure to Ohrid in the afternoon.
